Poem of the Week
UNTAMED
Peace eluded them,
when they chose freedom to blind obedience
Bitter, barren, and utterly broken,
society termed them
As they laughed in the face of freshly forged curses,
dancing barefoot in tarmacked foreign cities
Raising little flags on high mountain peaks
They lived,
freely, on their damn fierce terms
Wearing choices like a number of lipstick brands
rooted deep,
Wandering wide,
unlike daughters of ancient times,
Whose voices drowned in society’s shrills and
unwritten laws...,

"Sometimes the most profound insights come from the quietest moments — reflections on cold coffee cups, unspoken rules of everyday life, and the silent rhythm of black outs in the country."
